My Member Benefit Statement

Six simple tips - Make the most of your Member Benefit Statement

1. Learn one new thing

Take the opportunity to learn one new thing about your super each time we send you a Member Benefit Statement. No matter how small or large, everything you learn will help you make better decisions about your wealth creation.

2. Check your personal details

Take a quick look at the personal details on your Member Benefit Statement. Are your name and address correct? Check your date of birth and relevant service dates. If these are incorrect, your benefit calculation and taxation estimates could also be incorrect.

3. Check you have provided your tax file number

If you want to contribute to super, you will need to provide your tax file number. We must return personal contributions to you if you have not provided your tax file number. You may also be subject to additional tax on employer contributions such as salary sacrifice if you do not provide your tax file number. Information in your Member Benefit Statement will indicate if you have provided your tax file number.

4. Check your Death benefit nomination has been recorded correctly

Will your Death benefit go where you want it to? Unless you nominate otherwise, your Death benefit will be paid to your surviving spouse. See our Insurance benefits page for further information.

5. Work to a plan

Is saving for your retirement part of your household budget? It should be. Use the MoneySmart Budget Planner tool to keep track of your expenses and plan how you spend your money. It will help you gauge how much you can afford to contribute to your super.
