EISS is able to provide some financial advice over the phone or refer you to an independent financial planner who knows EISS.

Over the phone

At no cost to you, we can provide you with written financial advice on superannuation matters such as:

  • Contributions
  • Salary sacrifice
  • Investment choices and
  • Insurance within the Scheme.

We can also give you general advice (such as talking about the pros and cons, and what may be best in particular circumstances) on any area of financial planning, such as:

  • Transition to retirement - what is this and how can it save you money
  • Retirement planning - what general things should you be thinking about
  • Redundancy - What to do with payouts; taxation; investment of money.
  • Insurance - what to do if you want more cover than is available in the fund.
  • Income protection and trauma cover.
  • Overseas superannuation/pensions - tax implications and general discussion
  • Estate planning
  • Property investment vs. other investments

To get some advice, call 1300 307 844. This is at no cost to you, other than some time on the phone.

Comprehensive financial advice

We can't do full financial plans covering retirement /Centrelink/etc (ie what you should do). For that, you need to sit down with an adviser, get an analysis of your needs in retirement, how comfortable you are with investment risk, what other income you will have, etc.

If you don't have an adviser, we can refer you to a Mercer Financial Adviser who knows the Scheme and has advised members already.

Having a first appointment to find out what you need and whether you like the adviser is free. You only get charged if you ask for a financial plan. The fee should be all spelt out. If you don't understand it, ask questions until you do.
